Lower Floors
The Foreman examines the plans with a critical eye. The problems with the ammo bunker have been weighing on his mind, because if those shaped charges hadn't been *that* well implemented then it could have spilled the ammo bunker and nobody in that half of Floor 48 probably would have survived. And all it would take to complete the catastrophe is someone trying to break into Fenix Armaments and being a little bit careless with a plasma torch opening the door to the ammo bunker. So this? This is elegant, slick, and the kind of genius that is badly needed.
It's also a hell of a bribe, but considering that Doug's got the chops to actually live up to the promises he's making? There's a time for going by the book and throwing it at people... and there's a time to acknowledge that bending the rules is absolutely the way to go.
"Well. Doug, it's a pleasure to finally catch up and get your status report on this project. I'm gonna have words with InfoSec about them not getting the permissions for your email set right so that your reports went to my spam folder. You *do* have all those reports ready to resend to me, right? I'd hate to have to tell my boss that this favor I did for a friend put all of us on the chopping block due to sloppy paperwork... And since this internship is going to smashingly I think I can make a case to get you an offer for Assistant 5 reporting directly to me. Wouldn't be what you're worth, but it gives you cover and an official place up here in Tower 11. I assume that all I have to do is keep letting you do your thing with the appropriate guidance from me about where to focus next?"
Nobunaga nods at that and cracks open another bottle of Broseph but doesn't drink. He raises it in salute to the Foreman and smiles agreement.
"You got it, boss. I can't imagine how I missed all of these reports not getting to you, and I'm sorry I didn't follow up with more explanations quicker. I'll make sure to be more proactive keeping in touch and getting guidance next time. I look forwards to working with you, it'll be a long and productive relationship."
With that, the two men clink bottles of Broseph and settle down to the serious business of drinking and preparing how they're going to sell the baffle idea to the Head of Maintenance with the least resistance from the paper pushers who always get in the way of the people actually making this place work.(( L/P ))

#r-fenix Echo and Haven find Maul's old bunker in the desert to hide out in for the time being. Haven reads Echo's Paz file to him and Echo recounts the lore of his father, Victor Fenix.
Buried Militech outpost
"It's okay, baby." He looks down at the floor. Resting his hands on the table. It was a lot. On top of the other a lot he has going on with Richter and Walsh."I don't know her." His voice is sad. Soft. November Fenix is just a name. There wasn't even a story to go with it like there was with Victor Fenix.
"But if she is half-Snake, that means she's dangerous to me." His tone gets a little more edged and serious there. While he doesn't know for sure, he will always carry a hatred for Snake Nation. No benefit of the doubt there. Kill On Sight, as Charlie, Tango, and Delta told him to.
He walks back from the table and over to you, leaning down to bite the piece of sushi you were holding...whether it was for you or for him. Chewing and swallowing as he narrows his eyes in thought...
"I have no idea what the hell ARKive is." He's never heard of it before. And when he finally does look it up in Paz's files, it'll just be one final mystery she left for him.
Echo takes the sushi box from you and closes it. Wraps it back up in...oh wait, there's a fridge. He'll just leave it in there.
"Thank you for telling me all that, Haven. But I really just want to get a good night's rest and forget about everything out there for a while." It would still be there when the sun came up.
'Goodnight's rest' means he's going to scoop you up in his arms and throw you over his shoulder. Cyberpunk Caveman Style. Then they'll wander around for a few minutes trying to find a cot. A bed. Something sturdy and soft to sleep (after a few hours) to sleep on.
And yes, Echo will avoid using Maul's bed for that.
