I have noticed that well-made animated stuff that appeals to kids contains stuff their parents will laugh at as well. The adults bought tickets for themselves as well as for their kids. Aim some of the humor at the adults.
It is far too easy to re-interpret lyrics from past years. I get it. Deconstructionism is alive and well. That said, I've not seen Shrek. But honestly, I could not get past Shrek's "I heard there was a secret chord" before clicking out. Hallelujah is a masterpiece. IMHO not one word or note of it should be altered... ever. If someone wants to say something else, they should write another song and leave this one alone.
But that's just me.
Disney has some of the worst but they've been hiding this 'shit' in these cartoons since black and white.Go look up what Pinocchio is actually all about. It's child trafficking.
I've seen some pretty shocking things in cartoons.
like Dr Bendover snapping on a rubber glove as the door shuts with a kid inside
How is that any different than bugs bunny and wile e coyote?
I've seen that, some of the kids cartoons are disturbing in general, if you analyze them from an adult eye.Of course, I grew up on The Muppet Movie... Seriously, the innuendo in there is kinda shocking.
