I try to bring home a Christmas ornament from every place I visit. The Christmas tree is a travelogue.

Usually the only souvenirs I bring home are stamps and refrigerator magnets from any National Parks I may have visited. And photos ... lots of photos.

I always bring home a t-shirt for my son. That has been a tradition ever since he was born. He has kept every one and has a big trunk of them now.

Otherwise, I travel as light as possible.

back in pre-9/11 days, if we picked up a bunch of souvenirs...especially large or oddly shaped (like my tricorn hat from Williamsburg)...we'd buy a cheap trunk at Walmart and send it home on the train or by Greyhound...can't do that now...

Mostly small things..t-shirts, postcards, fridge magnets. I bought some jewelry in Scottsdale. Brought bagels home from NY, more than once. *grin*

My bff and I bought a few little things when we were in Nassau. On the way home, we each bought a bottle of rum at the Duty-Free store. The guy at customs...who had the greatest drawl, tried to tell us we were going to have to leave the rum with him. *grin*

I brought home a few t-shirts and a Stephen King book 'Hearts in Atlantis' published by Hodder & Stoughton when I came home from Belgium.

not "souvenirs" but i do shop while i'm away from home, mostly for treasures or work stuff. and like vaash ship it home if necessary .

Well, I can't say that I travel light because I always overpack. I'm afraid I take far too many clothes, for any kind of weather, any kind of activity -- casual to dress.

But to answer the question, I buy very, very few souvenirs. A few pieces of art or artifacts over the years, but very few. I can't even say that I take very many photographs.

I look for a few handmade items as appreciation gifts, but I travel pretty light.
