How is this not political when it specifically is directed to one side? Or does that thing about right refer to whether you drive on the right or left side of the road?I thought this cork stayed away from that.

Christians are not a monolith.
We come in many different denominations.
We come in all different political beliefs.

Every Christian believes in their Savior.Every savior saves you from something.
The Christian savior saves you from the hell that every Christian must believe in, if their Savior has a purpose.
Hell is a place of torture to the end of time for the sins you committed during your short life.

As EXEMPLAR said, not every Christian is a far-right, hate filled nutjob.Just like not every Muslim is a terrorist, and every buddhist doesn't chant "Oooohhhmmmmm" and is at peace with the One.
This is going beyond a national or religious issue and becoming a biological one, as it has since the dawn of the industrial revolution. Take note:1. Humans are the only species on the planet that produces sustainable materials that are toxic to all life.
2. The population of the species have exploded and continues to explode since the 1800's.
3. An ecology is required for an economy.
4. Go have a read and research about Calhoun's behavioral sink and it's pretty spot on about what we should expect from the species.
So relax, this is exactly the type of behavior to be expected by a species that is determined to continue on a pathway of self extinction. The extinction of the human species will be one of the best thing for the vast majority of all other living things on the planet. That's what it means these days to save the planet.
We all know who the haters' chosen one is. It's not Jesus, of course.
I prefer to think of this as weaponized Christianity. But, there are many cultures that have weaponized their faith as a reason to launch hate campaigns.... not just "christians".
I understand your frustration. As a lifelong person of faith, I hear you.But please try to remember that not all Christians fit the stereotype you paint. Don't toss us all into the same heap.
For example, I am a member of a church with about 1,500 others. We ate open and welcoming; and proudly declare it. We just finished with many activities related to LGBTQ+ Pride Month throughout June. Several on staff are openly gay.
The One who knows us the best, loves us the most. Our witness is a quiet one. In our view, evangelism is the act of one blind beggar telling another: "We know where bread is. Please, come sup with us."
