Well... shining an apple on my lapelI got an "A' on my take-home final. YAY me! I didn't expect that!
The in-class final, well, I finished it. I didn't finish the final exams the last two semesters, but this time I worked until the last available minute and I finished the tall-chord voice-leading right at 10:30. Not only that but once I worked out what all the chords were, the voice-leading was like...*duh*. Easy. There were a couple of things on the test that I just gave "educated guesses" for, but at no point did I stare at anything and draw a blank. So I will probably get a mid-or-upper-level "B" for the test, which will put me smack in the middle of the "B's" for the semester, and I'm completely fine with that.
I told the professor that the take-home and this final exam were actually positive experiences because they showed me that I'd learned something. The letter on the report card counts for something in my mind, but ~Really~ what I'm there for, is to LEARN.
And I did. Yay for moi! cracking up!
Now for a summer of camping, sailing, working on the Brahms clarinet/piano/cello trio, the Reineke piano/clarinet/viola trio, getting my first three viola lessons, and throwing some heavy stuff in a kilt.
Two years ago I told myself that at a minimum I was going to do a year of class piano and two full years of harmony/theory. I've now done a year and half of class piano, basic Voice, a semester of musicianship (I need another semester of that), and the Harmony/theory sequence. Basically, I did what I set out to do.
Lucky me, I have more opportunities for next year, so the journey isn't over. YAY!
Thanks, everybody for listening to the random recordings of stuff I compose that I throw up here. Unfortunately, there will be more of it, but hopefully the quality will improve!
Well done.
Indeed, well done. Thank you for sharing this musical journey. I've learned things too with some of the unknown (unknown to me) music you've shared.
Well done
Well done .... Never give up learning ... It keeps the mind young

Awesome job, can't wait to 'hear' what you come up with. wild grin
Pat ye'old self on da back much
..though once again, Whiz Kid Alex did in an hour and a quarter, what took me 2 1/2 to get through. Of the eight people in class, only myself and Tony were left at the end. So I'm still the slowest person in the class!
Good. You do the work through the semester, you don't sweat the final.
Well done!
