i just read a good one..."You can only regulate the emotions you let yourself feel."Symposium went well, although Baron Igor and i skipped a lot due to ennui and exhaustion...more later...
i tripped on a box this morning and fell into a pile of stuff...with knees out and feet together between boxes...made it very hard to push myself up, even with my armchair to help...and i'm in real pain...can barely walk a couple steps without my cane...which Baron Igor had to get from the car...mostly my right calf and knee...some my left...some lower back...but i didn't spill most of the mug of coffee i was carrying...that's something, i guess...
i'm uncertain about taking my strong pain pill...it means i won't be able to drive tomorrow...and i know Baron Igor wants to go to the coast...and he'll almost certainly be herbally enhanced...
He went down to sit by the pool and write...and learned something truly depressing...Nationwide...among other insurance companies...is leaving California...and they can't find anybody to ensure the pool and spa...i was truly looking forward to using them this summer...i'll have to drive up to the senior center near my old house, i guess...but that's nearly half an hour each way...not very spontaneous...and an added cost...not large...and it beats the gyms...but still...not like having it a block away...
anyway...i'm back...sorta...
the increase in violent and expensive weather undercuts the financial basis of insurance companiesthey may not be able to get enough in premium hikes to cover the payouts
Seems states having a high risk of weather / natural disasters are in the crosshairs of insurance companies withdrawing. Florida is another. Pepin has a good point about the strategery behind these moves to get big premium increases.
Ouch! I hope you’re feeling better soon.I have a friend who works for Progressive. They’ve stopped covering people in Florida, period. She said she thinks California is next.
Nationwide and State Farm are threatening to leave California. At the risk of sounding cynical,it could be a ploy to get the state to agree to huge premium hikes.
Hope your pain issue resolves.:-)
hugs
