My Milo has been officially diagnosed with FIP Dry. Feline Infectious Peritonitis. Dry version. He is being treated and will continue treatment for a minimum of 1 shot per day for 84 days. There are 3 very comprehensive blood tests to be done on very specific days during this time.
God willing after his treatment is completed, the final blood test should show that this insidious virus has cleared his body, i.e. cured. This is a 100% fatal disease if there is no treatment so I'm going to fight hard to get him cured.
The specifics are confidential but I can ask generic questions. So here goes. Have any of you had any experience with FIP either wet or dry? I would like to talk to you privately if I may.
I'm learning more and more every day, reading everything I can research on it. This is an insidious virus that cats generally from shelters pick up (yes Milo came to me at 10 weeks old from a shelter) It generally affects kittens from 8-10 weeks to two years. Milo will be two on July 2. Still just a big, black, sleek beautiful baby kitty.
I know this. If my tears could heal him (and any other cat with this terrible disease) he would be 100% well.
And finally, he has completed his 1st week of injections and I am guarded but very optimistic. He is eating and drinking, playing and you wouldn't think anything is wrong with him. It appears to be working though he has not gained any of his lost weight just yet. I'm keeping a journal of his shots, his labs and his weight and daily observations.
Thank you, Hearts.
Just thank you.from Milo and his scared to pieces Mama
Thank you all, my hearts. So far he is doing well on the new med. He has gained almost a full pound. It's still early. He is on week 2 of 12. His bloodwork at week 4, week 8 and week 12 will b4 crucial to know if this has cleared the insidious virus from his body.Thank you all!
Agreeing with belle de jour{C} !
Continued prayers.
I will send prayers and to get weight on an animal we always gave them a bit of buttermilk powder on their food. Most healthfood stores have it and it's cheap.
I've never faced this with any of my babies, but please know Milo and Mama remain in my prayers. *hugs*
hope things work out with this
Oh dearheart I've got you ... As do Henri (my seizure boy) Habibi, and Peaches .... Sending love and light.

No experience with it but you and Milo are in Gert and my prayers.
I hope the process is successful.
I don't know anything about this horrible virus, but Toots and I are praying for your beloved fur baby. Milo.
I have nothing to offer ...but my total supportive and positive energy.
Remember to hydrate and take care of you dear Milo Mama *HUG*
