The curse of being Barbie's younger sister.Pooh Bear Corner.
copyright RCS of course
Pooh Bear Corner is a wide bend on the Kings Highway between Canberra and Batemans Bay. During WWII, it was a control point. The road was mined and explosives rigged to bring down part of the mountain to block any Japanese invasion. It never occurred of course. The small tunnel was left and travellers used to leave "offerings" of kids toys. Eventually it was called Pooh Bear Corner and despite council attempts to stop it, the name stuck. The quality of "offerings" varies with the time of year and school holidays.
