he had only taken what was needed, no excesses like in the weeks before, no random violence to any creatures he could not eat. he had witnessed the trees move and heard voices calling down from the branches high above. he can only wonder what watches and should he be on guard. he fears a confrontation might reverse his present state and he would revert to something less pleasant if threatened. something he dreads to think about.

he had been going in and out of his cave all day. there was something new in the air. flared nostrils locate the scent of another and they were close by. a twisted attempt at a smile as he wondered if he was being stalked. such the odd feeling as it was something foreign to him. a watcher, a watcher in the woods was seemingly more poetic. if whomever watched wasn't scared away at first sight then they must have a reason.
