A smile plays at the corners of my lips at the discovery of a sand trail winding through the long-empty penthouse. Gleaming white and artfully placed; no doubt the cleaning staff were apprised of it's scandalous intent and so left it to lie in wait.

There's a moment taken to lean against one marble faced wall to take it in. A sinuous trail beckoning the imagination. A Thousand and One Nights when followed from parlor to bedchamber, a stirring adventure of discovery when those eyes tracked sand from library to entrance and wardrobe. But there was also the simple, hungry appeal of that gleaming trail from balcony to kitchen which suggested tropical breezes and sun-kissed flesh splashing amongst turquoise waves.

Ahh... it's been too long since I visited the beach house. Another escape from the city was needed.

For a few moments longer that gaze lingers upon muse-inspiring sand, the excitement of atmosphere and a change in scenery. Then there's a low growl, almost silent, as imagination shifts toward something more primal, more heated, and that sand is both inspiration and invitation for the fantasies which follow. And perhaps a promise too, to make good on all three in the future.

*giggles softly, and find my favorite spot, getting a cup of coffee from Bruce on the way*

I watched the fireworks show through the usual hole in the tree branches which was slightly enlarged this year due to the May 28th apocalypse storm.

Ken, I'm not worried about the two-way mirror thing. Honestly, if someone is sitting back there staring at me, then the onset of ugly-stress blindness that started when I walked out of the shower is their own fault.

But seriously, there are now four full-length mirrors in a space for about a dozen people to change and stuff their kit into lockers. There are mirrors over the sink around the corner, two full-length mirrors in the shower area, and another very wide, but not full-length mirror over the shelf where you toss the workout towels. It's just kind of weird.
