nodding my head, my decision made. i turn to the bartender and lift the cup to him to let him know i
wanted another.

he smiled and pointed at the one he was already making.

we exchange cups and laugh about what a coincidence it was, and i turn back. seeing my friends continuing to
have a good time, i find myself walking across the bar in a different direction. occasionally bumping into
other people as i sip my new drink. not sure where i am
headed or why, just...just exploring this place.

and i get to a table with an empty chair. and i stand there a moment and find myself looking at you. the cup
again raised to my lips and another sip drawn from it.

Leo. Ok you pointed them out and she was taking notes of who's who until you started in again with tmi.

"Holls, hold up. Not your place to out someone. If they want to tell me let THEM. "

You wouldn't get it if you had never had to be closeted or were uneasy about who you were or might be. Hell, she's always known who she is and never hid it but she'd be pissed if someone else outted her.

She saw Dylan Bode and unfolded her arms to give the man a hand shake. No words spoken, just a firm shake. She knew he just lost gigi and didn't want to bring it up, she gave a subtle nod to him.

"Good to see you." she meant it. It was good to see you out . "Have a good night."

Once you'd gone she'd turned back to Holly Blanc who was leading her toward the two people she'd been telling her about.
She slid her hands into the pockets of her shorts, thumbs hooked on the outside of the pockets as she nodded to Leo Sterling and Talia Amin.

"Hey."

Instead of a handshake, they are offering you a piece of cake. Since they're cutting it.

"Nice to meet you, V, I'm Leo. Kind of newly figuring out stuff, and Holly'd mentioned you to me." None of that sounds as confident as he'd like. Ah well.

"Kind of recently figured out I'm Non-Binary." A shy shrug

Cutting, plating, distributing along one of those long folding tables with wide feet for standing stable on sand.

"You got it? Okay careful! I mean it's a cake knife but I'm sure it's sharp enough you wanna be cautious with it regardless…"

And hopefully to soothe peoples' acheing ears, Tyler set the music back on, balming the soundscape with some Taylor.

"You having fun? I uh…" she glanced, breathlessly and lip-nibbling, between you and Talia Amin. "I hope it's not too exhausting…"

gasping. "She just up and left, only sending a messenger on the way out? Why I never!"

That shimmer of gold on her finger when she raised her hand caused him to smile slowly. Another obstacle. Something else he was not dissuaded by. In fact, it made it all the more fun to know that there was someone at home, waiting for her return. The married ones were always a sweeter prize, somehow.

By now, her friends were completely focused away from her, facing one another. It was then that the probe in her mind dug a bit further. He found that desire for another drink and he nurtured it. Teased it out. From and idle thought to almost a need.

He reached out some of his power to the bartender, suggesting that he start to make a new one for her before she even approached the bar. And when she did get it, he would keep her so focused on quenching her thirst that she wouldn't notice how he gently guided her steps...not back to her table with her friends, but towards his own, where an empty seat sat across from him.

You get a warm handhake.

"Thank you so much, Dylan. It was really cool meeting you."

Rattling off his number for you.

"I'd like that. Seriously, thank you. I can't tell you how much I needed this tonight.

Of course Leo was comfortable with both He and Them, but the welcoming attitude was a shot of goodwill she knew was priceless.

"Nothing! Just saw you, it's Leo Sterling's birthday, they're the—I mean you see the one Tyler's lighting up. Stageplay actor, Polycule — they're also seeing, uh…"

She also gestured to Talia Amin, the hottie with the bag of cherries.

But either way she wanted to lead V. Vander over to the group to get introduced.
