"Okay. I'm gonna go. I've obviously outstayed my welcome..."

Taking the shot and then heading out for now, stumbling a little as she goes.

As Gideon spoke, he fixed Nonna – Veronica, as he now knew her name to be – with a singular expression. That she still insisted on calling him ‘Alexander-Alexander Kincaid’ earned a shake of his head, and, with his left hand down at his side, he discretely pointed a finger at her, his eyes widening as if to convey the message, ‘You, behave.’

That he smiled along with it, a knowing smile, filled with something as close to mischief as his expression could naturally shape, kept him very much on this side of respectability with the older woman, whom he knew to be far older than she looked, especially today, and powerful with it. It did not do to aggrieve such beings, even if her granddaughter was his courtesan.

“Old friendships, and those new,” he turned to glance at Delilah, before sharing a look with Gideon and Nonna both, “are best celebrated beneath blue skies and a shining sun. God knows we see precious little of both here in Scotland.”

He chuckled gently, and then turned to offer Delilah his arm again. “We will not keep either of you, and do not wish to disturb. I merely wished pass along my greetings and make the introduction.” He looked at Delilah, his smile knowing. “If Miss Darling does is not allowed to sample one of chef’s French pastries, and soon, I fear she may fade away to nothing. Enjoy the day, both of you.”
