Somewhere at the fringes of the gathering there was some kind of noise, and for an arresting split-second she thought maybe it was Brixton Walsh, just based off of the gasps and hoots.

But well, one of the few other people who could elicit such a reaction was moving through the group and Holly was mid-introduction when she saw the rockstar progressing through and she squinted for just a second.

"Oh shit is that—"

Holly set down the remainder of her drink so she could jump up and wave.

"Yo! Okay Leo that's Dylan Bode, my boss at Ouroboros Records and a friend! Oh shoot maybe he can hook you up with some musical talent or connections for some future thing?"

She continued to wave the man over.

"Leo and Talia this is Dylan Bode, Dylan this is Leo and Talia, uhh and those are my friends Madison, Tyler, Jeff and Fred, that's Nina over there, Kyle and Zack and Christian way over there, uhh oh and those are some co-stars from Plus One, that's Kate and Courtney… shoot who else do I know…"

Her eyes glanced to the present, pouting at the fact that it wasn't to be opened yet!
There was that small pile over by the table where other little boxes and cards were left, at least, so there was a safe place to put in the meantime.

The flush deepens a little, but with it a grin.

"Yep, that Talia."

No one here thinking anything of it is good. Just him that needs to adjust.

Well, you'll have to settle for the way his expression visibly brightens at the sight of you. Once you see him.

A quiet laugh as you refuse the hand, "thank you," for the birthday wishes.

The bag is accepted, and yes, he does look inside immediately. What follows is an utterly delighted smile, followed by a pout at you, when he discovers he can't see what it is.

"But now I'm curious." But he will wait.

A soft smile as you answer the question of the greeting for them with the brush of lips. Only then letting you settle back on your feet properly.

"She did." He sounds amazed. He is amazed. "She pulled all this off with, like, a couple of days notice."

Oh, she'd love to see that expression, the way it brightens at the sight of her text. Or, well, her, mostly. But she doesn't see you. Not yet.

But when you look her direction, she notices you the moment your hand starts to wave and smiles brightly, wiggling the fingers holding her phone and hopping down from the bench to head your way.

You offer a hand and she slips her phone into the beach bag before carefully switching it over to the other arm without dropping the bag of cherries.

Not particularly, but... happy birthday!

Offered in a sing-song voice before lifting the gift bag up. It's a kraft paper bag, but the present is wrapped inside, so even if you peek, you can't see.

You don't need to open that now though.

In other words, wait until later.

You sweep her up into a hug and she lifts her feet a little, wrapping her free arm around behind your neck and being much more careful with the one holding the still open bag of cherries.

Good.

You linger as if unsure what comes next and she lifts to her toes and grazes her lips against yours briefly, up from beneath.

Did she do all this for your birthday?

Or is this whole thing not all completely related? Quietly asked as you lead her over toward Holly Blanc. Who seems... nervous? But she smiles easily at the other woman.

When you tell her she's taller than you expected, she quirks a grin, but with a confused flicker of her brows.

I'm curious how tall you thought I'd be.

Phrased like a question, sort of. Because, she's not sure why you would've even had a guess how tall she was. But she's only a few inches taller than you.
