*smacks my forehead*. I literally just had an actual conversation with the IT guy.

"There's a computer in room 207 that's not working after the glitch"

"I'm not worried about that one right now I'm just trying to get people up and running and I'll worry about those later".

Ok, I get his point....but.... You're planning to come back over another day instead of fixing it in the two seconds it takes while you're here? *Wondering if a "bang head here" sigh would be better...*

And amused....one of my coworkers came up, he was an IT supervisor once upon a time and rolled his eyes. He heard the conversation.... And lipped "lazy" to me. LoL!

The Grange
I'm knowing it.

He's smiling broadly, tilting his face up to the rain to enjoy the cool softness of it.

Then he's pulling his shirt up and over his head, this time not worrying about where it'll land. He'll find it later, or someone else will.

I take myself away to it when the place gets a bit heavy for my liking and I want to play.

There's plenty a room for him to practice in, but he's become used to open windows and the ocean breeze when he practices and the closest he can find is the depths of the garden.

Why do faires and fest bring so many together?

Here goes my two cents. I think any chance that people have
To get together and story tell is an opportunity that many want.

People that role-play like to write for many reasons and they play
in many styles And each is unique in their own way

Given the opportunity to get together and play with people that are different
Than we are is both challenging and entertaining, and most of us welcome The chance to do things that we wouldn’t be able to do and play sprawled out all over
the place. It also gives us a chance to stretch our wings so to speak and think of
some new things That perhaps pertain only at the event we are at . For example,
Maybe a thief would pickpocket at affair and he could’ve could not be caught.
And could go off of that or an NPC could be made for the event to do something wrong.
And have in-game conflict Or something to evoke play that is a different than our normal day to day

Is there a good reason why some rooms stay empty?

I think room stay empty because people get easily intimidated and don’t wanna
cause any issues Because some are very vocal and throwing or slinging negativity
Along with judgments of how they think Gorman Books are interpreted.

Since The rule is whatever the room owner wants the rules to be all must play that way,
No it limits the type of play there. So I know
That My mate and I stick to rooms that won’t be confrontational. Should
we decide to play something the way we feel Versus the way somebody else might
take it.

As many know Our way of following the books. Is a loose interpretation
and a guideline for that which we don’t know. we are not dogmatic in how we
play it and it is not Word for Word by the books.

In the past, I personally have been attacked and flung on the corks for judgments at least twice. And while I believe the person’s right to their feelings and their
opinions, I don’t like causing any type of cork war or anything that will divide.
The place that we come to to have fun and entertain and be entertained. There should be a place to be creative and joyful behind-the-scenes.

We have lost many Simply because they don’t wanna bother with negativity there’s enough of that in the world We live in we sure don’t need it here.

Every time people start judging each other and calling people out creates animosity. And it creates a divide and it pushes people away so for that reason
rather than cause conflict we play where we are least likely to cause issues. I Can fight as good as the next person, but why Would I? In character sure but behind the scenes…no.

My mate and I pretty much stick to our own rooms or rooms of friends that feel the same way we do or at least tolerate how we play so it’s safe not only for us.
But it’s safe, not to cause people to think here we go again with a cork war.
interpretation of the books

I don’t like behind-the-scenes OOC conflict. My belief is that
It does more damage than good. I welcome constructive suggestions
And ideas but not name-calling and bullying. And I try to treat others
the way I would like to be treated.

Would it be better to condense rooms to only 4 or 5 to encourage play?

I don’t think commenting rooms is the answer. When we limit rooms
Start giving people control over any play that goes on there
It would bring more people together. There would be more conflict.
And differences of opinion and quite frankly all hell would break loose.

Many rooms have tried to have counsel and governing bodies to “rule “
The play and its content, but that isn’t the answer either as it too Causes
All that I said above.

I personally think the answer is for us to grow up put on our big boy/girl panties
An act like adults and quit something on the books as if they are the only play we can do.

Think about it Gor was written as if it was a life in a new world.
And life is for the living as they say, and it goes on my way of thinking.
Is that retake the storyline from Norman’s books and we live on as if
It is life that he would live on in his books if he were still writing them

Less rooms would eventually cause less people and everything we work for.
To build GOR Would be lost…

If we ignore the bullies and give others the right to play as they see fit, knowing
That we don’t have to play with them if we don’t agree with their style or content,
We have a chance of making GOR great again.

Remember something no one forces you to go into any room to play and no one
types your words for you So you do not have to be limited by others opinions behind-the-scenes.

Talk to each other and OOC Or mail room and get to know them and if possible
If it seems like a decent fit, find a way to role-play with them and see where it goes
From there. Events create an environment, where your character can get to know someone and that’s a good thing

Life is too short and passion needs to be confined to the Play and not
Being conflict and bullying against those we don’t agree with

I apologize in advance for any punctuation or spelling mistakes as I am dictating
On this blasted phone, which seems to have a mind of its own

God bless and play on
