“Is it…?” she murmurs, distracted by yet another piece of her clothing falling to the floor.

It was as Thomas Gilmore that she had met you. Thomas Gilmore she had grown to know, and want. Even after the knew the truth of who you really were. And somewhere in the back of her mind she had been at pains to never call you Tommy out of respect for the man you wanted the world to see. Until now.

“No. Not Thomas Gilmore. Not tonight.” There’s a whisper of hesitation, as if she’s still not quite brave enough to say what she wants. But she was tired of everyone treating her like a China doll since the fever had broken. Bored of being wrapped in cotton wool and fussed over like she was still an invalid.

Even before her illness she had always suspected that you held a part of yourself back when they were together, making love to her as you thought Thomas Gilmore should. But she needed so desperately to feel alive again, and that meant letting Tommy Baird off the leash. In every way.

She gasps softly at that first grasp of your hand as you haul her against you and cover her mouth with yours. The fervour of your kiss makes her head spin, the heat in her belly dropping down between her thighs as she swallows your groan. Threading her fingers into your hair she kisses you back without shame.

When you draw back, she sighs into what little space is left between you, her head falling back to bare her throat to your lips as her fingers tangle and tug at your hair.

“I need Tommy Baird, tonight.” Her voice drops to a throaty whisper “Please…”

It was upside-down on the other side of the room
