nodding my head, my decision made. i turn to the bartender and lift the cup to him to let him know i
wanted another.

he smiled and pointed at the one he was already making.

we exchange cups and laugh about what a coincidence it was, and i turn back. seeing my friends continuing to
have a good time, i find myself walking across the bar in a different direction. occasionally bumping into
other people as i sip my new drink. not sure where i am
headed or why, just...just exploring this place.

and i get to a table with an empty chair. and i stand there a moment and find myself looking at you. the cup
again raised to my lips and another sip drawn from it.

She slid her hands into the pockets of her shorts, thumbs hooked on the outside of the pockets as she nodded to Leo Sterling and Talia Amin.

That shimmer of gold on her finger when she raised her hand caused him to smile slowly. Another obstacle. Something else he was not dissuaded by. In fact, it made it all the more fun to know that there was someone at home, waiting for her return. The married ones were always a sweeter prize, somehow.

By now, her friends were completely focused away from her, facing one another. It was then that the probe in her mind dug a bit further. He found that desire for another drink and he nurtured it. Teased it out. From and idle thought to almost a need.

He reached out some of his power to the bartender, suggesting that he start to make a new one for her before she even approached the bar. And when she did get it, he would keep her so focused on quenching her thirst that she wouldn't notice how he gently guided her steps...not back to her table with her friends, but towards his own, where an empty seat sat across from him.
