The sliding doors to the balcony are open to the night, letting in the fragrant air of the city and beach front with hints of the sea and festival that permeate the area always but less notable during the daytime hours.

The fireplace is lit as there is a slight refreshing chill in the air along with a decided amount of humidity.
The flames are enough to cast away the humid stickiness and add just the right cozy warmth to the apartment.

Yah, I could just close the doors but then where would be the fun in that?
With as little time as I get here, a bit of decadence isn't the worst thing under the moon and stars.

Leaning over the rail of the balcony and watching the waves crash, their chaotically aligned crests catching the lights of the coastal city scape and reflecting it to a beautiful effect... simply mesmerizing.

Over the sound system I have some soft mood music playing as I swirl a glass of scotch in hand.
