Seeing a family of Brolgas walk the street of a country town is an amazing sight. *wry grin* as is seeing a wood duck that was run over by a semi trailer, and yet retained its general shape. If there was a quick flood with an overlay of mud, perhaps it'd be a future fossil.

The countryside is gold. The grass is yellow, still green at the base, but when the sun breaks through the clouds, it's golden and reflective.

There's been more than usual rain, so there's plenty of kangaroos and emus. The hawks are out in force, as are the crows because of the huge amount of roadkill.

It's school holidays here too, so there are caravans and camper trailers everywhere. All here in Winton to see the fossils and the dinosaur stampede.
