You are the best. Yes, he's told you this, yes he will tell you again. The brief round of hecticness backstage immediately following the show wasn't enough for more than, well, brief congratulations.

You spot him, and the squeak would've told him where to look if he wasn't already. Just enough time to brace as you leap into his arms, a delighted laugh as you do. He'd been ready to swing you, but when your legs wrap around him too, one arm wraps tightly around your waist, the other sliding down your back to your bottom to better support you.

The praise has his ears going pink, smile growing impossibly brighter. "Must've been the brilliant writing. It's easy to be good when you've got a wonderful script."

Much like yours, it's entirely genuine. Predictably, your giddiness just makes him that much giddier.

The rest of the world melts away with that kiss, though. The kind of kiss that makes him forget they're not alone, judging by the rumble of pleasure that likely only you can hear as he kisses you back. The kind that indicates maybe he's wondering if anyone would notice if they slipped away for a few minutes.

At least until someone calls a teasing 'get a room!' It doesn't make him let go of you, but it does have him pulling back a bit breathlessly to murmur, "should we get a room?"

Holly Blanc -

Please forgive him for missing your entrance. He'd been distracted. Was, in fact, still kind of distracted.

For all they'd said you didn't need to dress up, you can see he and Elodie had dressed up too. So you weren't alone.

You'd been stellar, and while he'd told you that backstage, very much needed to say it again. You had put in the hours, the hard work, so while you might think they'd backpack'd you, he'd argue otherwise.

You'd handled the one scene you'd ad-libbed through like a pro, and the fact is that even literal pros forgot lines, flubbed them, and theatre was always a bit like Mei's kinsugi.

If there hadn't been an increase in the general excited trill of the room, the volume - it would be easy to miss your entrance entirely. For all the excited energy of it, it wasn't showy, and he was (literally) wrapped in Elodie.

Elodie Stone -

He is going to steal one more kiss, briefer, before deeply reluctantly loosening his hold on you enough to set you down.

"Later." It's a word that smoulders. They will find a room. Once they've greeted and congratulated people, because as co-producers and director, that was also part of the job.

It does take him a moment, then, to fully register Holly Blanc is here, to offer her a smile and a wave. More softly, "we should go tell her she was wonderful." He wouldn't be hesitating, for any other member of the cast. They both know it. They both know it is part of the rhythm of an after party, a part of the dance, to greet and congratulate everyone.

You've been nothing but professional with Holly, who had done an excellent job tonight. Continuing that fully meant going and congratulating the co-star of this production. Still, he was waiting to follow your lead here.
