When dawn broke over the meadow I had slept very little during the night. I was not so concerned with the slavers as they did not stray too far from the walls of their stockade. No, it was the chance that another party of goblins might stumble upon My hiding place on their way to the stockade.

Below the camp was coming to life, I watched as several slaves were removed from one of the pens, each then had a set of ankle shackles locked on her, the chain being a foot in length if that. Long enough for the slave to move about the camp taking short steps, but short enough that there was no possible way she could run. I noted that one of these slaves as Jessa Tate, the mother.

These slaves were put to work preparing the meal for the guards as well as the porridge that they and the other slaves would be given.

I came here for her and her daughters, under the law they were all three slaves now. If it was just so simple as My walking down to the camp and buying them from the slaver. But that was not an option. My walking into the slaver stockade alone was questionable enough. But picking three slaves that happened to be mother and daughters would immediately cause alarm with Marconus and his men.

Then there was the matter of trading arms for slaves to the goblins. I could not just let that pass. Marconus would have to answer for that.

I watched the movements below, one of the slaves on the work detail drew My attention, she was blonde and well bodied. If I had to guess she was from Asgard to the North where the Norsemen as they like to be referred to lived. I had to wonder about who she was. Besides now a slave like the others down there.

I really wished that Gunther and the others would get here soon. Time was running out.

If it had not already, the slaves in the pens fed and watered. Those on the detail were returned. Then several slaves were removed and the tags on their slave collars checked. One of the Tate girls was in this group. I could only watch as her and those in this group that also included two of the servants that had been taken were loaded into one of the slaves wagons which departed the camp
