It took Me longer to reach the point where they had entered the trees as I had move in the tree line around the meadow to get there. I could creep and crawl across the opening through the tall grasses but that would take too long.

I had moved as quietly and swiftly as I could without drawing notice of My movements in the shadows of the trees. In three quarters of an hour I reached the point where they had entered. I picked up My pace just a little as I want to move with as much stealth as possible. If they were moving to join up with another party or larger group, I feared that they might have sentries out watching and listening.

Three hours later, a piece of the mystery began to fall into place. I detected the smell of wood smoke and cooking meat. Standing on the far edge of a meadow as I watched the part crossing to the trees on the other side. A couple faint wisp of white smoke floating up over the tops of the trees.

The raiders were moving towards where the fires were. That did not bode well. They surely detected the same things that I had yet were still moving towards whatever lay ahead.

Five goblins would not dare take on a large caravan or camp. At most they might scout the area of the fires. An that was questionable at that. They had six female slaves already, that was a good take. The most that they could hope would be to sneak in and steal some supplies or goods for themselves. Perhaps another slave if someone was careless and their guard was down.
