It's good to have goals. And it's not like they're unfamiliar with people carrying - they grew up on military bases. But the context is -very- different.

They had to learn how to use them growing up. That strong familial military tradition rearing its ugly head. It's been years since they've touched one, though. It may not surprise you to learn they aren't great with guns.

You have so many different cars. It makes sense to him, really, that this liminal area is one where a gun range pops up.

The mention of his father has his expression going tight for a moment, a brief surfacing of the tension, grief, and injury that's been left in the wake of being dropped by his family. It's just a moment though, followed by a quiet laugh at the pun.

"Yeah, my father made me do this. He kept hoping I'd carry on the Sterling military tradition, until I was embarrassingly bad enough that he stopped trying." A wry smile. "Maybe I'll do better with you, without all the pressure to perform."

There's a sheepish cant to his smile, as he reaches for his water bottle. "So, yeah, it's not really full of happy memories, but I'm not opposed to changing that. The company is way better this time around."

Brows lift a little at the collection, simply because he wouldn't have guessed. "I'm cool. Lead on. Um, what's your favourite? The most fun?"
