What are your thoughts on rooms that are locked, private and/or invite only?

I've been playing in private for some time now and find that's been working well for me and those that I'm playing with. I don't follow the logic that rooms should be thrown open to any stray passer by when it seems that there are so many different opinions on what it is to be 'Gorean' and participate in Gorean RP (thematically it would also be difficult for passers by to 'drop in' as the current play is set on Earth).

Do those rooms promote play or hinder play?

I feel that my situation encourages me to play as I know that I'm going to be able to focus on the RP and not have to contend with OOC drama, sniping, etc. So in that sense it promotes play, but I do accept that it also hinders play for those not involved in that particular storyline.

If such rooms are out there and operated by a slave does that make them non-Gorean by default?

This is a non question. As far as I'm aware, all rooms are owned by a Citizen of Jag / Soi / etc that has chosen to pay taxes to support the site. Whether that Citizen chooses to pay a slave character or a free character is irrelevant. If those people playing free characters have an issue with playing in such a room they are of course welcome to create their own rooms, paying for any extra accounts needed to do so in the process.

Last question and yes we know there are many, do such realms/ room(s) show Gor or only one view of Gor?

One view. But really, the notion that there aren't multiple views is a flawed one. As I already said, different people have different views and there's usually little interest in compromise, so expecting them all to mesh together is a little naive in my opinion.
