What are your thoughts on rooms that are locked, private and/or invite only? Do those rooms promote play or hinder play? If such rooms are out there and operated by a slave does that make them non Gorean by default? Last question and yes we know there are many, do such realms/ room(s) show Gor or only one view of Gor?

this is a lot to unpack, so let's try breaking it down into the several discussion topics you have there."

1)What are your thoughts on rooms that are locked, private and/or invite only? Do those rooms promote play or hinder play?

"I think they have their place and always have had. If you don't want the peanut gallery piping up with unwanted whoziwhatsits, or are looking to avoid people all together due to personal reasons. I mean sometimes you want to spend alone time with a special person, so you go into private play. I have been with Males who won't scene openly for some reason. When I used to play in BWR exclusively one of my characters had a private home where I did debauched and unthinkable things to people" ~*sighs in nostalgic delight*~ I believe there are reasons for private play. I have even played in a whole ass realm that was private invite only...and is now called @war. it didn't work very well, it was very hard to get everything going in the same direction.
Do I think it promotes play? well if you are just two folks playing together in your own little fantasy world yeah it works. If you are trying to have a whole ass realm with lots of folks, it gets to be difficult as the more folks you have the more difficult to coordinate play is. and since you can't see it on teh see all or the hot list you can't say "OH HEY so and so is playing i'm gonna pop in". So in that respect it hinders play.

2)If such rooms are out there and operated by a slave does that make them non Gorean by default?

"Godsssssss I hate this sort of question. Slaves build most of the rooms, make most of the avs, and do most if not all of the heavy lifting around Gor.
And while I am not a slave, I do not cap my real name, my characters for the past couple of decades have been Free. But it is amie who owns the Reed village, and the Reed Inn.......does that make them not gorean?

"of course they do, people wouldn't take it "private" or "invite only" if they didn't have a singular view that they didn't want tested by outside influence. By definition they are exclusionary to all other thoughts other than their own because they are only bringing in like minded beings." ~*shrugs*~ "Gor is a weird place, always has been, always will be. Filled with strong willed Men, strong willed Women, and strong willed slaves. It's what is great about Gor, and is also what is killing online gor. People want THEIR Gor, and heaven forbid anyone challenge your idea of a world build around very poorly written, even more poorly edited, peices of fiction that contradict themselves in every book. Gor is much like Christianity, everyone pics the sections they want and create their own little cult around it."
