Well, when you put it like that…"Okay... Okay.."
And then you approach, and he winces a little as the bruise gets more attention when it was just trying to languish underneath a layer of skin or two in peace. Your words have him dropping his jaw a bit, before snapping it shut and unable to help the wry grin his mouth twists in.
"Alright, alright, I was just sayin'... You got a Family Fortune that could be just MILLIE's Millions with a Netrunner helping us out?"
His eyebrows wiggle as you take his hand and gently lift it to… Place it on his own chest, with the cold compress against his chest. He looks down at it, and then back up at you.
"Yeah, I can be your camera man! That's no sweat, Choomie. Where should we—"
The sound of approaching footsteps has him looking around. This place DID look too lived-in to be derelict... His eyes snap to the door, and then back to you.
"If this turns out to be another of your sisters' spots I'm jumping out the window."
I’m good you’re happy and safe. Good work. Have a good night. It’s at 12:30 after midnight here in Ontario Newmarket .

"Nah yeah you're right, I'm just struggling off synth-protein and selling my body for fun, while sitting on a big ol' stack of Eddies with my name on it!"Freezer opened, cold towel withdrawn.
MILLIE approached you, folding the towel over a few times and gently pressing that chill compress over your throat."But what of it? What if I had some vault of secret money? You presume some share of it jus'cause you got sum magic dick, fuckboy?"
It was hard to tell if hers was a grin or a sneer, one that lingered silent as you vocally writhed about Saddie the Baddie.
"I didn't mean it literally, I just mean whatever brainrot is in store for those of us who stick around to be her loyal lapdog. Sisters like Vikkie. Like I said, there's more to that bullshit."
After a moment, she withdrew the towel and unfolded it, re-folding with a new cold side out before she opened your coat and rested it against the red spot on your chest.
Eyes wandering, aflicker, before she took your hand and rested it over hers, and… let you hold the towel for yourself.
"I don't know. I don't trust any of them. Might just remote in and let her say her peace. You wanna do me a favor? Telepresence me on an emitter so I can technically do what I'm asked without potentially being made to stick around and do god knows what?"
Right as she started to approach again, however, there were noises from the distant stairwell that echoed up and down the hall. Perhaps whoever lived here, returning.

Why, yes, she currently is more sober than most of the crowd, but not completely sober either. After all, this is her third drink of the night and the bartender is making them plenty strong.Well, she'd hope that you find her actually pretty, not just 'only other girl I've seen' pretty. But there's nothing mean about her questions. Not at all.
The moment you say you're a horrible person, she narrows her eyes at you, the look intense as she turns on her stool to face you completely.
You are far too heartbroken to have done something that would place you in the category of horrible person. If you were truly horrible, you wouldn't be here right now attempting to sing your heart out. You'd be... I don't know... contentedly chilling elsewhere, not at all concerned about your actions.
So, while you might've made a horrible mistake or made a terrible choice, you, yourself, are not horrible.
But when you offer up the story in trade for a drink and a story, she nods.
Deal.
With that, she holds out her pinky. Maybe it's too much time around kids, that her instinct is to go to a pinky promise rather than a handshake, but.. there it is.
One time, when I was about 13, I was working in the library and a boy asked me for my number. He was a little bit older than me, cute, tall, and so.. I gave it to him. We texted for a while and then he started asking for pictures of me. I sent some, at first. Nothing risque or anything, but then he kept asking for more, for nudes.
Telling the story, she doesn't sound embarrassed or bothered by it. In fact, maybe a touch amused. But she pauses to take a sip of her drink, then continues.
I dodged the requests for a while, but he started to increase the pressure, you know? So, eventually, I sent him a picture.
A little shrug of one bare shoulder.
Not of me though.
I'd photoshopped his grandmother's face onto the body of a very provocatively posed, naked woman.
A beautiful one, but still.

"Wow, don't get too excited, I don't know if he'd have anything to say… worth a shot, though."The fact that you actually took a drink of the mystery brew made the securing of first aid materials that much more relevant, though it would appear you didn't need it after all.
"What? I mean you want the full fucking history or something? Mom's a pharma-corpo, we're a bunch of test subjects, pretty sure Harper was her only true daughter and she went missing a whileback, presumed dead or something. She was religious, a missionary—"
MILLIE soaked what looked like a (miraculously) clean towel and tossed it in the freezer to get cold and offer for your throat once it was.
"…beyond that, I don't know—also! Don't think I missed you making eyes at that psycho fuck. She'd sooner play with your spleen than play with your junk."
The remark about your family, however, slowed her momentum to something that might even border on empathy, finally stopping her busy pacing just to lean against some bare concrete that made up one of the walls of the unfinished apartment.
"…shit. Family's complicated, choom. But yeah, curiosity satisfied? I don't know just what her grand design is, I just know that Mom isn't exactly the caring and nurturing type. Eager to kick us all out of the nest to go fend for ourselves, or stay on and be processed into Corpo-mulch. I guess it's better than not-knowing."
