kemmie's heart warmed at Hobb's reassuring words. She felt a deep sense of contentment wash over her as he lifted her hand and kissed it again. She watched him drink his bourbon and followed his gaze to the twinkling stars above.

"They really are,"

She agreed, her voice soft and filled with wonder.

"It's like the universe is putting on a special show just for us."

She paused, her eyes tracing the constellations that dotted the night sky.

"I'm so glad to hear you say that, Hobb. Knowing that you'll always be here with me makes everything feel so much more certain and secure."

kemmie shifted slightly, moving closer to him. The warmth of his presence was a comforting contrast to the cool night air.

"These moments, right here and now, are what I treasure the most. Just being with you, under this vast sky, makes everything feel perfect."

She turned her head to look at him, then moved and placed her mug aside before sliding into your lap. Sitting there facing you, she put a slender hand on your cheek before leaning in and kissing your lips softly, her eyes reflecting the starlight.

"Thank you for being my constant, Hobb. For making every night like this one feel so special and memorable.....Now what would Mr. Hobb like to do?"

Holly withdrew those keys, looping them on a finger like a ring while she plucked up her phone in the same hand.

And while she took one last glance at you as you offered this idea that she was capable of solid advice, she…

Holly gestured off-handedly again like she knew there was a very real chance she was just way off about things, maybe many things. Maybe every-thing, and listening to her was liable to harm more than help.

Taking responsibility was not a core Holly trait.

And before she headed to the parking lot, Holl;y seemed to take a breath as if to add something else — but then just released that breath and kept walking. "Have a good night, Leo."

You were accurately painting a picture of his parents. Mostly, anyway. They had wonderful qualities, but.. yeah, he hadn't been the son they'd hoped for, that's for sure.

That has him laughing, head shaking a little. "Mm, maybe it's worth a try. I can't see them going for it, though. There's a 'right way' and a 'wrong way' to do these things, you understand.

It's funny, the part of him that is a little disappointed you let go. A part he tries to ignore, as he sticks his hands in his pockets, instead.

It's a definite vibe. But you'd said some really smart stuff tonight, stuff he's going to be thinking on. "After the play. Right now, I feel like I don't have enough time to breathe, so - yeah, I'll stick with Doctor Holly for a bit, if you're game."

You're reaching for your keys, which is probably a sign this hang out is at its end. A laugh of his own echoing yours, partially laughing because you are. "You give some pretty solid advice, Holly."

That as he moves to nab his backpack, and contemplates the way to navigate the night with the least amount of hurting Dee. His physicality reminiscent of that glimpse you'd caught the other night, when he thought was alone - deep-set fatigue and worry, chest tight like he was wearing a corset. Just a moment, before he manages to banish that from most of his body language.

it wasnt hard to make her smile or laugh or just make her happy for you did it all the time and well that was a stark contrast to alot of different things in her life. she was okay with things being just normal...

Holly gently slowed her momentum a bit, as she felt she was painting these parents of yours as perhaps an antagonist figure in your life, which… hell, that may be objectively true but she's never met them, she has no way of knowing.

She only had the reaction the elicited within you, the legacy you were facing, the comparisons to your sisters as you described them a few weeks back.

"…but it's [Current Year], so maybe they're staunch traditionalists but if it's all about clout to them, maybe you can start wedging an argument about how they could be the first of their generation to embrace non-traditional weddings like they're so prescient or whatever. I dunno, I don't know your folks…"

Holly finally released your hands, if only so she could free herself to gesture vaguely, outwardly in that faint, societal defeat. To admit the status of the world is often out of their hands and often hard to agree with.

That 'It is what it is' energy, tinged with a faint trace of 'I can't give advice, I'm the walking disaster known as Holly Blanc. I take no accountability for the damage I might be doing'…

And she then grabbed up her purse, pivoting to where she'd seen you put Lilly Thorpe's card. "You should totally talk to her, though. Even if you're not facing some kinda crisis, she's so insightful. Or maybe you're just happy with Doctor Holly."

As she dug through her things in search of her keys, Holly suddenly erupted into musical laughter. Don't be mistaken, she can't sing her way out of a paper bag. It's just that God was merciful enough to not make her laugh equally dissonant.

"God, could you imagine if I was somebody's therapist? Jeeeezus."
