His attention turned to his Mac and Okra, respectively. Finger tips gently rubbed on his napkin, he switches from mouthful of Okra to mouthful of mac and cheese, making a mm! noise when you ask about dax as he brings his hand up to cover his mouth while he finishes chewing and swallows.

"MMmmmYeah, Woman I used to date, now live with— That's Dax. "

He uses the napkin to wipe a dry crease against his lips, clearing the gloss the fatty foods would leave on him.

"Nah, nah nah you ain't in trouble. Holly's harmless—"

Lie. Lie lie lie. But this one went unrecorded on his face. No tells, no hitches in his voice. Flat, plain. Dictating facts.

"—I mean she all about this new boy, right? Can't stop talmbout him. Every time I see her it's all about Leo."

That, however, is tinged with emotion. Weight. Throwing the words around like two Sumo taking up space on his tongue.

"Yeah, but like, doin' a play already cuts you into that exact subsect of human, don't it? Unless you deep in theater, or like, livin' in New York, you ain't goin' to see Plays all the time, unless you got some kinda money. I saw people in bowties out there, feelme?"

He grins...

"And suppose the RomCom makin' some returns, I seen a few of them rollin' around on Netflix or Max or whatever.

So, besides paintin', what do you do for fun? I mean, you streamin' all day?"

His eyes dippin' from your own to the various bits of ink that propped you as canvas beneath it. The look was easy enough, but it was accompanied with a the subtle shadow of a grin, like his mind was working heavily, behind the scenes.

Had a stomach bug all weekend. Missed out on a big annual camping event that I was supposed to be volunteering at. Don't think it's Covid, but haven't taken a test.
