You slip into Gen-Z Rockshore-ease and those crystal blues open a bit wider, a grin quirking at the corners of her mouth. Just as she's formulating a response that clearly comes more quickly to you than her, she notices Leo's parents coming right in their direction.

It happens in a blink, the way she changes for them. It's slight and clearly well-practiced, like a second skin she slips into.

Oh, thank you. That's such a compliment.

To the suggestion that the artform is in her and Leo's hands for the City. It feels... big.

A soft, slightly sheepish trickle of laughter at the suggestion that Plus One was the result of having her finger on the pulse of anything. A hand lifting to stroke fingers through the silken curtain of her hair.

Oh, I don't know about that. Plus One has been in the works for years.

At least, that's how long it's been since the idea formed in her mind, anyway.

An abrupt mood switch happens as the Sterlings come over. Though they get the lion's share of her attention, she does glance over to you, noticing how you take them. She's guessing they're pretty much exactly as Leo described, if the way you switch into another role is any indication. Welcome to polite society. Sort of sucks, doesn't it?

While the chances of you noticing it are next-to-nothing, her stomach twists when the tone makes it clear to her that you're more invested in her-and-Leo than the play.

I couldn't have done any of it without Leo. Truly.

Lifting those linked fingers, she presses a kiss to the side of Leo's index finger, squeezing as she does, an action that may seem like it's for you, but is really for Leo.

Her tone is a careful blend of banter and retort, wrapped in utter politeness.

When Mrs. Sterling pulls out her iPhone and asks you to take a picture of them, she glances to you while they're both looking at the phone, mouthing a 'thank you'.

While the Sterlings are not her favorite people, they did bring her favorite person into existence. And, she can play this game without the internal strife that Leo holds.

Even before your parents arrive, she's savoring every second of this giddy sort of high. One she's going to do her damndest to bring back later, once they're away from all of this.

Oh, that mischievous grin. You'd better stop it or they're heading out of here right now, propriety be damned.

Even with heels on, she's not taller than you. 5'9" plus a few inches doesn't quite get to your height. Just.. taller than a lot of people.

But the moment your parents approach, her focus switches. Instantly in quiet, supportive, semi-protective mode. Everything she says and does plays your parents well, but is truly in support of you.

If she could, she'd physically flood you with confidence. Well-deserved confidence, the kind you generally struggle with some, but even more when your parents appear.

So, she carries the weight for you, as best she can, anyway. When they ask for a picture, she looks from Holly to you, able to tell that you're nearing the end of your rope with them. You're going to need a minute soon.

So, as your parents pass the phone off to Holly Blanc and move to place you and her in the center, she slips her fingers to yours and tucks her arm around behind your lower back.

Mrs. Sterling 'suggests' Holly take a few, just so they get a good one, and she smiles brightly for all of them, sometimes turning her head to look at you, sometimes looking at the camera. Your dad has his arm around her shoulders and your mom is on your other side.

About the time that they're ending the pictures, she gives your side a series of pulsing squeezes. Their signal. Once the photo session ends, she turns to you.

Oh, Leo! I almost forgot that we're supposed to let David back in. He ran to let his dog out and was going to sneak in the back. Would you?

Clearly, she's giving you a break. She'll take care of your parents.

He holds his horses reigns read to mount up when you are that grin turning mischievous

when you whistle for your horse he settles into the saddle and when you are ready he follows you to town beginning the retribution for Shane and get your women back adventure
