As he approached the table, his eyes alighting first upon Nonna, he tipped his head, his expression a quizzical one. He had seen her but this very morning but could swear that she had lost a decade or more in the interval since. It went uncommented on, of course, but he was powerfully curious. Noting her discretion, he nodded his thanks; for all that Delilah knew about Amara, there were some subjects one did not bring up in public.

His gaze shifted then to Gideon as he broke into a genuine smile to match the man’s own. Gideon was his superior within Eidyn House and indeed, the secretive order which used it for cover, so he inclined his head respectfully along with that exchange of hands.

“May I present my dear and long-time friend, Miss Delilah Darling. Gideon…” he paused, realising then that he had never ascertained Nonna’s actual name. It was not for lack of trying; the woman was habitually evasive and had avoided his every attempt to discover it. He was grateful then as Gideon stepped in and introduced himself and his companion – Veronica? So, that was her name. Very good. He glanced towards Nonna briefly, a slight smile turning up the corners of his mouth.
