Gunfire Breaks Out at Trump Rally in Pennnsylvania
Trump was quickly surrounded and escorted off stage by Secret Service personnel
By Sarah Rumpf-Whitten | Fox News | Published July 13, 2024 6:23pm EDT

President Trump was rushed off the stage by the Secret Service at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania., Saturday after apparent gunshots rang out.

Gunfire appeared to break out shortly after Trump began speaking at the rally at Butler Farm Show grounds on Saturday evening.

The former president had just begun to fire up the crowd when as many as five shots were heard and he went down, surrounded by Secret Service agents.

"And then the worst president in the history of our country took over. And look what happened to our country. Probably 20 million people [came in illegally]. And, you know, that's a little bit old, that chart... that chart's a couple of months old. And if you want to really see something that sad, take a look at what happened over..." Trump said before gunfire rang out.

As they led him away, with what appeared to be blood on his head, he raised his arms defiantly.

Elysium
Idle hands and the temptation of vivid memories encourages a visit to this place, once again having fallen into my care. An ownership largely in absentia, but to my mind that was often the best path forward in places like these. An atmosphere free from long, deep shadows embraced the wildness of the new as well as the echoes of the past.

And my tastes vastly preferred to enjoy this place, like so many others, as a guest captivated by it's atmosphere rather than a figure of privilege to be waited upon.

Of course, that didn't stop me from slipping behind the bar to pour a glass of my usual vice beneath the amused eye of a long-tenured bartender, after first pouring another for him to share while we caught up.

It'd been months since my last visit. A quiet affair, mostly business and a few drinks. Some amusement enjoyed via the on-site CCT footage courtesy of the exhibitionist tendencies of guests who knew full well
the secret eyes relishing their uninhibited revelry. Some people never changed, appetites which were insatiable once discovered.

The club was empty save for a handful of employees arranging furniture, stocking the bar, and going through their pre-opening checklists. Most were familiar but a few new faces were in the mix. I caught their subtle glances, the nervous looks directed towards positions of power. A few more ardent glances, those who knew the game and had no compunctions about mixing business with pleasure, but I had no plans to overstay my welcome and thus disrupt the night's usual activities.

A conversation ended with a phonecall, a nodded 'thanks' for the drink and the time shared as I took up the phone and moved toward the back offices to take it in private.
