There's a flash of something in my eyes and then those long lashes are lowered to hide whatever that was. I haven't moved, I'm still literally close enough you can feel my body heat.

My gaze is somewhere on your chest, though I'm not really looking at your uniform, I'm shielding my eyes until I get whatever it was that flashed, under control.

There's a fingertip.....right index, gliding up along your left forearm. It's a slow, slow movement, exploratory but incredibly electric. At around that same time, those green eyes lift again, but not to your eyes. They stop at your mouth this time.

You know...... if you'd set that big ego aside for even 4 minutes, you and I could have a conversation that actually makes sense.

And then those eyes are lifted to yours, the probing isn't there any more but there's a softness to mine this time that hasn't been there. That fingertip continues to touch and ride over your forearm, slowly.

I don't care about the perks. The protection I do. And if I have that protection there won't be any reason why I can't do my job to the very best of my ability. That's what I said to you. Those gunning for you are a lot bigger than you can imagine.
