He'd heard the sound of footsteps approaching and took his eyes from the view of the city and watched as you approached. He gave a curt nod to the Askari. It was not cold but grateful and the mand returned it briefly and walked off. Jabali looked you over, head to toe. You seemed to have all your parts and pieces. He grunted.

I did and I shouldn't have had to.

You return empty handed, Cousin. You understand how this looks?

He knew that you did. Those men whose honor you tried to save looked even less honorable and you looked a fool. Jabali was not happy that his cousin, especially the one that everyone knew he favored, looked the fool.

And now I must bring down the punishment.

Throne Room
The woman had spent time in the gardens, restorative time, in slow strolls along the stone walls separating the high cliff plunge from the lush palace gardens. With the tang of salt and the sweet fragrances of blooms, it was a tranquil place to collect her thoughts and sort through her feelings after making the trip to the caverns only to discover REDWOLF and Budo Wolf had left with no message for her. It confused her, the feelings that seemed to rise in the dead of night when the face of the flame-haired man seemingly followed her. In the glow of the lamps, in the shadows where the light did not reach, even when she closed her eyes.

Her private musings were interrupted by the looming presence of one of Jabali's elite Askari; his words did not come in a request, though they were polite, acknowledging her status as tentative as it may be. She had not avoided her cousin, or maybe he had. It had been a few days since her return. The days spent recovering from the back-to-back travel. She was not the woman who had left Schendi, who could run for passangs and not feel the burn in her muscles and the stiffness that followed.
BR Following the Askari, the gardens faded behind her until with the trail of the simple off shoulder gown whispering over the polished floor she arrived to the room where her cousin waited

The guard stepped aside, as with graceful carriage she made her way forward speaking softly when the distance was but arm lengths apart
