His gaze follows hers to the impediment of the far too high hurdle of the shrubbery that would halt her rapid egress on the off chance the date went FUBAR, he sniffed the air and puffed up slightly as he shrugged out of the rather worn leather of his jacket. "Why then, upon my honor as a gentleman and a man who's played a gentleman in an eighth grade school play, I simply must offer my hand to make sure you are able to clear the offending hedges so your dash to freedom could be made." He winks and then simply quiets his knack for talking to simply take in the sight of her accepting his token of appreciation for agreeing to suffer his company for a dinner.

The slight rosy hue to her cheeks makes a genuine smile touch his lips before his fingers lace together and rest upon the edge of the table. "You're very welcome and, if I do say, even prettier when you blush like that." His smile might appear lopsided when she laughs again and reassures him that she isn't simply a compulsive vehicular vandalizer before he joins her in a laugh. "Giraffe actually. " He nods his head and emits a withering sigh for dramatic effect. "Wouldn't you know it, the dealership was all out of Elephants. There must be a convention in town, huh?"

He grins and then watches curiously as she fishes out her phone to type away, he doesn't pry. He's fairly certain he knows what she's doing and finally laughs when she confirms just what he thought. "That's fair. I feel somehow lacking in that none of my friends believe you could be a black widow luring me with those pretty eyes like a siren to my doom." He watches her type and then stuffs the phone back into her pocket before laughing a deeply again.

"That's fair. I won't take any such threat personally. If I had a nickel for every time I've been threatened with a grouting tool, am I right?" A low chuckle leaves him which fades as the server shows with their waters and menus to which she sets upon the table between them. He thanks her and asks for a few moments for them to decide upon their choices before picking up his menu.

"Seriously though, thank you for agreeing to come tonight. Food always is better when shared with a pretty girl." He smiled and scanned the menu before looking back to her. "Have you eaten here before? It's my first time."
