Te'Sirian couldn't help but chuckle at Xavier's last comment. The image of his nephew being "branded and tied to the wall" was a humorous contrast to the serious matters they had been discussing.

"Xavier,"

Te'Sirian called out, his voice filled with both amusement and sincerity.

"You're a brave man for taking on all of this, but I have no doubt that Jynx will understand. She's strong and smart, just like you. Besides, she's been through enough adventures with you to know that nothing ever goes exactly as planned."

He stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand on Xavier's shoulder.

"We'll get through this, together. And once this is all settled, you can make it up to her with an even better vacation. Maybe somewhere with fewer unexpected dangers,"

he added with a wink.

Te'Sirian's expression softened, his eyes reflecting the deep bond he shared with his nephew.

"Take care out there. And remember, you’re not alone in this. We’re all here to support you. Now go, and give Jynx my love and apologies for the disruption."

With a final nod, Te'Sirian watched as Xavier left the room, feeling a renewed sense of hope and determination. The road ahead was uncertain, but with family by his side, he knew they could face any challenge that came their way.

Xavier's expression shifted from thoughtful to incredulous as he listened to Te'Sirian's words. The mention of familiar names and unexpected connections took him by surprise.

"Of course I remember the big man,"

Xavier replied, a hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.

"The cabin in the woods... it's been a long time, but I'll definitely check in with him and his brother. Their experience and knowledge of the area will be invaluable."

He paused, considering the next name.

"Finn, huh? Always reliable. I'll make sure to touch base with him as well."

However, when Te'Sirian mentioned Eamon Starke and his connection to Killsey Blackthorne, Xavier's expression turned more serious.

"Eamon Starke on the council, involved with Killsey Blackthorne? Brynn's sister?"

He shook his head slightly, a mixture of disbelief and frustration crossing his features.

"That is interesting, and concerning. We need to tread carefully with that one."

Xavier let out a small chuckle, despite the weight of the conversation.

"You always know how to surprise me, Uncle. Seems like every time I think I have a handle on things, you drop another piece of the puzzle."

He leaned back, his mind racing with the implications of Te'Sirian's revelations.

"Alright, I'll start with Dumitru and then make my rounds. The big man and his brother, Finn, and I'll see what I can dig up about Eamon Starke. This is starting to sound more complicated than I initially thought."

Xavier stood, a determined look in his eyes.

"Thanks for the heads up, Uncle. We'll get to the bottom of this. And once we have a clearer picture, we can decide on our next steps. It's time to unravel these mysteries and protect our home."

As he moved towards the door, a new thought struck him. He turned back to Te'Sirian, a mix of amusement and apprehension on his face.

"And now, I have to come up with some way of explaining all this to Jynx. Because it looks like any sort of vacation we had planned is either going to be placed on hold or take twice as long to actually do... Damn... she's gonna brand my ass and tie me to the wall. Thanks, Uncle."

With a firm handshake and a nod of understanding, Xavier headed out of the living room, ready to begin the next phase of his mission. The challenges ahead were daunting, but with the support of his family and allies, he felt prepared to face whatever lay ahead.
