Not aiming for aggressive is probably the smart route here. Even if he's pretty sure he understands the subtext, and any pretense has already been somewhat dismantled.

Which is maybe what gives him permission of a sort to stop trying. It's a subtle thing, the way the weight settles back on his shoulders, the weariness in the slump of his posture, the moment you captured on camera recreating itself - or at least, the vibes of it. Taking up less space, even as the constriction eases a little.

"I don't know if I can," even his voice is smaller. "I don't want anything to spill into rehearsals, or break -" and here he pauses, because specifying Elodie feels unfair, "anyone's trust." Even having this conversation, he's pretty sure, would upset Dee.

"Things are just... tense. And I don't know how to fix it. Just get to put it down for a bit in rehearsal, I guess."
