A short while ago, I was sitting on my deck.

A hawk swooped by, grabbed a wren, and sat on a branch of a tree not more than 10 feet from me.

I'm certainly he was conveying a message!

They have long legs and a tuft of feathers up towards the body. *Smiles*. They remind me of the baby chicken hawk from Looney Tunes

*smiles*. I was fishing one day, and an osprey flew down and caught a fish id thrown back. And an eagle came and they were fighting over it. *Laughs*. I'm not sure who won, but they made a LOT of noise. *Laughs*.

There is a tradition among some that the owl is a harbinger for death. There is a novel on the topic "I heard the owl call my name."

I've also been told that owls are not to be eaten, again as part of a tradition.

I won't say which tribes though, but non of the ones I interacted with down under had any tradition along that line, from what I can recollect.
