Rewinding to Late-April…

Celestine, still reeling from the death of her childhood friend and only symbol of hope in a bleak neon hellscape, tries to collect some pieces and embark on the pursuit of justice, as small as she can manage on her own — anything to avoid therapy. A long-shot lead about a bit of lost Kang Tao experimental brainware sends her to a subterranean hacker's den under the Eventide spa in Dogtown, where she encounters the chronically anguished and unstable Felix Stroh on the verge of doing something reckless.
