As your posture squares up, his curves in - it's fairly subtle, but also, you've seen him curl in on himself before. Make himself small. This is a ghost of that.

Then you mentioned him loving Elodie and for a moment, the sky clears and his smile shines. "Yeah, I do." The clouds return of course, but they always do.

A deep sigh as you trail off into the sort of question. An arm lifting to wrap itself around his own middle, curving in that little bit more. It doesn't occur to him you might be jealous, that he might be worth getting jealous over - even if he knows you have a crush on him.

Besides, he's too busy trying not to be obviously defensive with where this is going.

"I don't know," the words are quieter, edged with vulnerability he doesn't want to be feeling. "You'd think I'd be over the moon, right? My parents finally excited about something I'm doing. It's just.. that's not really what they're excited about. They are ecstatic because this means I am doing what they want me to do, and because it means I won't continue to be an embarrassment to them." Like his physicality, he's even making his words smaller, quieter.
