That question has his expression shifting to something more serious, less preoccupied with what you are working on. The girl problems thing has him blushing faintly, the body burying a low laugh. "Um, no, none of those. I mean, it is important, I think, but..." he trails off, refocusing his words. "I met up with Echo, and he wanted me to pass along a gadget, so you can communicate safely. I wasn't listed as an associate, and am not really interesting enough to merit a footnote, even with Briar being mentioned, so I figured I'd see if I could help. No one has any reason to think they could follow me to him."

As he speaks, he's unearthing the little cylinder from a pocket, and offering it to you. "It's a tight-beam broadcast, you can plug it into your comms and get a secure line to him. I'm not sure where they are exactly, but he and Haven are laying low. I have one for Nobunaga, and one for Fox, but haven't managed to catch up with them yet."

Bamboo's AI-powered cat collar interprets his thoughts and transcribes it to language, ya see? And it can also compose direct messages… constantly bothering IRIDIA to bring home fresh fish, or… 'Sea Meats'.

Just as your height was an asset to view the crowd from an advantage, so too did it make you easy to spot in kind — that iridescent mane swung and then tilted up towards you, parting for a glimmer behind her eyes and a smile to acknowledge you.

"Yo!" Her now-empty drink served as a walking ashtray for her smoke — you know, one of those Biotechnica 'totally doesn't kill you, we promise' joints, spicy and faintly sweet.

"Huh? I mean not necessarily — it's kind of a long story… something to do with my own lil problem, yknowwhatImean? I'm on the hunt for some components that I gotta scrap outta something here, use it to make modifications to Bamboo's 'ware, or at least to tinker a bit."

After another drag, she realized keeping the thing lit was not going to be too conducive to conversation so she dumped it into the mouth of the can with a sizzle.

"Not gonna lie it kinda sounded important, what's up? Girl problems? Tech support? Need help burying a body?" Some random passerby balked and glanced at her. IRIDIA smiled back.

There's a motion of a soft mouth when you mention the Kind of Thailand, but I'm done educating you on the political hierarchy because you stopped listening. So, there are no more words to be offered on the subject.

My shoulder remains leaning against a cold bar, fingers still loosely laced together in front of me, because it's the only thing that's going to stop me from crossing my arms.
