when she had finished...larl looked around trying to figure out where she'd be needed next...but then again she wanted to see more eof the camp...so she did the unthinkable and jumping from the deck to the dirt...having to take a step upon landing...she smiled to herself cause she was no gymnast...but thankful none the less at having not broken her neck in the process....she pressed the summer kirtle over her hips.....noting the women wearing strange clothing...larl was happy she had the kirtle...it wasn't much...but it was more than they had...she wondered how long it would be before Master would have her clad kajir

Zebediah's grin widened at Rip's words, the memories of their younger days bringing a sparkle to his eyes.

"Family's worth sticking around for, no doubt about that. And yeah, we sure were a handful back then."

He clapped Rip on the shoulder, a mixture of relief and happiness evident in his voice.

"Covell's always been a challenge, but it’s nothing we can't handle. He'll be glad to see you, too. Three Amigos, huh? Sounds about right. We sure raised some hell together."

Zeb paused, taking in the moment before nodding firmly.

"Good to hear you're staying. There's always room for you here, Rip. This place feels more like home with you around."

He glanced around, his mind already turning to practical matters.

"Now, let's get you settled in and caught up. Got a lot of work to do, but it's good work, and it'll be easier with you here. If your good with that?."

He looked back at Rip, the grin never leaving his face.

she looked to me with a bright smile....she pointed to the wash basin and told me plates needed washing and of course the many vessels....larl stooped beneath the counter to find some soap flakes...reaching into a sack of she pulled forth a handful ...tossing it in the basin...she found a kettle of water heating on some warming stones....pouring the hot liquid in the basin before adding cooler water ...she thought was taken from a nearby spring, pouring it so that the water remained warm...then began the arduous task of washing the many plates and eating wear....dunking it in rinse water and placing them in drying racks
