The girl soon returned, walking swiftly with the rapid, short steps of the trained kajira, as though her ankles were chained. Kneeling gracefully, the girl placed the tray upon the floor and began to place the plate of grapes and squares of cheese upon the low table at the Ubara’s side.

The girl then carefully poured the chilled juice into the goblet. The girl served unobtrusively, as slaves must. Rising to her feet, the slave stepped back three small paces before going to her knees again.

She would wait, knees together, palms on thighs, her shoulders back, alert for the slightest gesture.

~She looked over the remaining reports and pushed them aside.. there had been an increased eye kept on the salt trade after the salt ubar's threat, but it seemed to be all for naught as nothing was out of the ordinary.. but she had found no update about the Schendi Ubar and did not wish to miss the opportunity to explore a trade agreement.. for an ehn she considered a walk to investigate herself.. and then glanced to the guards on duty.. and her brows knit together.. The Captain of the City guard lead from within and often took shifts of his own.. but the man was inflexible.. and convincing the captain himself of last minute, unplanned changes was sometimes a battle of wills.. he'd make a fuss, but eventually they'd go if she felt like insisting.. but she didnt ust now.. and anyway, she had a desire for some ta grapes and cheese and.. in another ahn or so, the shift would change~
