Marshal McCallister nodded thoughtfully at Ace's response, absorbing the information with a keen eye. The mention of transient workers from Mexico added another layer of complexity to their investigation. It seemed their task was becoming increasingly intricate with each revelation.Marshal McCallister regarded Ace solemnly, acknowledging the information he had provided. "Thank you, Mr. Carson. Your cooperation has been invaluable. If there's anything else you remember or any further details you think might be relevant, don't hesitate to reach out to me."
With a reassuring yet firm tone, he added,
"I may need to contact you again if we have more questions or need clarification on anything. Until then, take care, Mr. Carson....Ms. Emerson..."
Turning slightly, he glanced at Vanessa, offering a brief nod before preparing to take his leave.

Vanessa's brows furrowed slightly as she listened to the exchange between Ace and the marshal. The mention of a stranger from out of town raised her concern a notch higher. She knew how tightly knit their community was, and the arrival of unfamiliar faces always stirred a sense of unease. Her gaze flickered from Ace to the marshal, noting the gravity in their expressions. When Ace mentioned the transient nature of some workers passing through Covell, Vanessa couldn't help but feel a pang of empathy for those seeking opportunities far from home.

"I do not know his name as I have never seen him before here in Covell, but that is nothing new. See some of the men come up from Mexico taking work on the ranches and farms around her for the summer and fall, making as much money as they can before the winter sets in. Then they go home to their families to help them make it through the winter cause they can be brutal there and a lot of them come from the smaller towns and villages. I know I have helped some out before that made it this far, see they hit all the towns once they get over the border till everyone has a job.The best I could do is provide you with a description Marshal."
He was telling you the truth and that was evident by his tone and expression on his face
