TT:CODE DARKHis feed snaps black, cut off, and a thin flash of red lights passes over head. The last thing he could pull from what was being fed to his Triage data from the network was a nearby wing doing work on an Arasaka sponsored patient.
A code black means that the artificial intelligence within this building detected a network threat, potentially one which could breach the Black ICE, a digital barrier that would often kill intruders to even attempt to breach it. It isn't 100% effective at protection. When something can breach, or might breach, they often segment the active NET within the building. What in some circles is called a data fortress.
His wing, at the moment, is offline.
He can still work at this terminal and with this patient, but the outside world is blocked off to him. He has to use his standard NET feed from the city. Calls, messages, etcetera, but none of the hospital's access remains.
It is way too hot here for soup.
Laffing madly

*leaning over to kiss your cheek and chuckling*They haven’t come close to that kind of stuff in probably twenty five years, and even then they never made anyone do it but a lot did just for the entertainment of it.
Not to mean there’s no chance I’d get hurt. Things can still go wrong and occasionally real shots are taken when the timing isn’t exact. Receipts are a thing after all….

It's April 1958. The Yankees are playing and intra-squad game in Florida. Yogi Berra is playing first base.
Mickey Mantle hits a single to left.Mantle says: "Hey Yogi, What time is it?" He knows Yogi is wearing a watch when he's not catching.
Yogi answers: "You mean ...now?"
I knew him after he left baseball, when he owned a workout place (he called the gym) in North New Jersey, and 30 years after Jackie Robinson was called safe at home when he stole home in a famous World Series game, Yogi would go on and on about the play. "BUT HE WAS OUT." And he get down in a squat, and show everybody (who had already heard the story a hundred times) "He touched my glove but he dint touch the plate."
I drove by the site, recently. I think it's a WalMart now.
Several bits of wisdom that are still true.
"Good pitching will always beat good hitting. And vice versa."
"You can observe a lot by watching."
"Always go to other people's funerals. Otherwise they won't go to yours."
"Predictions are hard. Especially about the future."
Yikes baseball hail?
Grab helmets everyone
