she looked to me with a bright smile....she pointed to the wash basin and told me plates needed washing and of course the many vessels....larl stooped beneath the counter to find some soap flakes...reaching into a sack of she pulled forth a handful ...tossing it in the basin...she found a kettle of water heating on some warming stones....pouring the hot liquid in the basin before adding cooler water ...she thought was taken from a nearby spring, pouring it so that the water remained warm...then began the arduous task of washing the many plates and eating wear....dunking it in rinse water and placing them in drying racks

padding past her Masters wagons, she continued on her path...tiny feet causing little clouds of dirt to spring up beneath her steps...she tried peering within the yurts but not truly seeing....so she found a wagon and took the steps up until she stood on its deck...the flap was opened so she peered inside...she noted many slaves the about the yurt preparing meals...so she stepped inside and asked a kettle if there was anything she might help with

Zebediah chuckled, taking Rip's offered hand and returning the brotherly hug with a firm clap on the back.

"Possibilities, huh? Figured something would keep you from going all the way out West."

He pulled back, still grinning, and shook his head.

"Thinking's never been my strong suit, has it?"

Zeb's expression softened a bit, a mix of nostalgia and genuine warmth in his eyes.

"Well, it's good to have you back, Rip. This place hasn’t been the same without you. Ace will be glad to see you too."

He gave Rip another once-over, still in slight disbelief.

"So, you sticking around for good this time, or just passing through again?"

"I realized ain't gonna find anyplace better then here to put roots down, and maybe just maybe I missed you and Ace."

larl walked out to the wcamps firre pit...not knowing what to do...she was new...she probably looked the part to as the eyes on her made her feel as if she had the plague...no one spoke to her...only watched and waited...knowing the fire was down to embers....she didn't know if these people wanted to have the main fire blazing in the day light ahn , so she began a little walk around...to get the lay of the land...
