Rehearsals
It's an experiment, but then, it's always an experiment. See how it read, how it felt, with a slight shift in tone.

The dress rehearsals, the focus and hours required of them all was a blessing, really. Anything less, and he'd be lost in the worry, stress, and guilt that came from their fight. They never fought. But that damage was done, and while he is doing his best to make up for it, he doesn't feel he's succeeded.

So thank goodness for rehearsals.

And costuming. He was still in pj pants and a t-shirt - not that different than the yoga pants, really. Holly, though? Damn. Not that his eyes are on her, yet, instead his attention shifts from the yearbook he's looking at on the bed, to the phone as the ding signals a message.

A sliver of worry and insecurity, as he notes it is from Nate. Doubt. At least until Holly emerges into the doorway, in the deeply flattering lingerie, and he gets a proper look at her. And as Ben, he does look, a thing he'd never allow himself to do as Leo. Or would try not to. The yearbook flipped shut, forgotten, heated gaze on the woman in the doorway.

At least until she reveals the retainer, his laugh projected to carry, along with his smile. "Oh, yes! This is the full seventh-grade Alice experience."

It is maybe a weird line.

As you make your way over, the yearbook is absent-mindedly shuffled out of the way as he shifts to his back, propped up on his elbows, an invitation there in his body language, in the mix of amusement and attraction of his eyes on you.
