Just had the news this morning. My youngest daughter, who's been through so much - from an abusive first marriage to being finally diagnosed bipolar - has just got her PhD. She's now a Doctor of English. I am so proud of her. Just wish her wonderful Dad was here to share the news. He'd be over the moon. He was working on his own PhD when he died very suddenly. I feel so proud that she carried on against so many odds to achieve hers!
