HAPPY SIGRBLÓT!
The long, dark and cold Scandinavian winters are tough. The arrival of spring and summer is therefore cherished by most of us. The bright days and warm winds are an unparalleled energy boost. It was around this time of year that Sigrblot (Victory Ceremony) was held in Viking Age Scandinavia. The beginning of summer coincided with the departure of ships on raiding and trading voyages. Holding rituals and ceremonies for success and victories was vital, since each voyage was an investment in time, money and lives.
Its about time!
Thank you Old Woman of the Mountain! That is truly interesting. xx
