So Odin went to Midgard (Earth or Gor) to collect the souls of great warriors who died in battle. They were called .... the Einherjar!

I mean what do you and I know about what was going on 1000 years ago? We have SOME written word about the most famous folk.... but a guy off the Silk Road? We know almost nothing.
Fun fact! (Well fun for me, maybe not for everyone else LOL)The 21st December, as well as being the date of the Wild Hunt is also referred to as Gravy Day by Paul Kelly fans, such as myself, in Australia.
That's thanks to Paul's song "How to make Gravy" The song was released back in 1996 and over time it has become an intrinsic part of Australian Christmas despite Paul Kelly saying he never thought it would stand the test of time nor be a hit because it doesn't have a chorus and it's set in prison.
The lyrics tell the story of a prisoner, Joe, as he pens a letter to his brother on the 21st December, speaking of his heartbreak at missing not only Christmas with the family, but his only job – making the gravy.
Kelly has said his inspiration for the lyrics was drawn from Irving Berlin's White Christmas, where "Irving intensifies the feeling of Christmas by not being there"
(The story of a Jewish songwriter, Irving Berlin writing a Christmas song and the song itself are other interesting stories that I won't derail this thread any further with :) )So there you have it. Another reason why the 21st December is a prominent date. I hope you enjoy the song. I think it's great.
