says to ALL: You know your children have grown up when your son has no interest in decorating a Yul tree and your daughter can do so taking symmetry and colour co-ordination into account. Gersemi and I had spent the afternoon making it beautiful but ensuring there was enough room for mena, shay and cassie to do their bit too. It was always more lovely when it was a group effort

says to ALL: It looked lovely with red bows tied onto the end of some of the branches and a mixture of painted pine cones and wooden ornaments dangling colourfully around it. There were some glass ones too....but not many. These had been hard to find and were expensive but oh, how beautifully they shone within the light of the lanterns.

And of course, there was one more decoration that was yet to be placed upon it. These had been decorating the Bloodaxe steading tree and the hall tree for many years now and I wasn't going to break with tradition. Upon my knees, head bent over with golden hair glistening along the length of a slender back, I sought the small box within the chest. "There you are" I smiled saying it and drew the box out, holding it out for Gersemi to see. Her smile was as equally nostalgic as mine. She had been putting these on our trees for as long as she could remember and she knew the story of how Donar Bloodaxe's slave, the barbarian selina had spent many hands making these on her first Yul on Gor.

says to ALL: Together we began to hang them....ten for this tree and ten for the hall tree, as tradition dictated. They had been preserved well, carefully wrapped within tissue like rence paper each year. The embroidered little replicas of my Jarl's flag ship, The Rhythm, had been painstakingly created and stitched. They had been stuffed with verr wool and a variety of twine had been used to replicate the colours of the vessel. The only difference being the gold twine used for the tiny shields hanging on the gunwales. The gold had been selected only for its decorative purpose but it was perfect, allowing the ornaments to shine softly among the branches, drawing the eye toward them.

"I think we have done well, Mistress" said as I stood back with Gersemi, admiring our handiwork. "Indeed" came here sweet and slightly lyrical voice. "I hope father is pleased

helga and I got the Jul tree and log. We also got Jul trees for all the lodges. *grins* They're for sale at shay's shop in the town for 2 coppers. LOL
