The right corner of his mouth lifts into a smirk at your reaction to pure-grain alcohol. It hurt, yes. But he hid his own reaction save for a single tear running down his eyes. And he took the entire shot.

"So...Nyxa Fulgor of The Copper Cloud...my chief engineer has been looking for our backup water recycler for over a week now." He pats the front of his jacket where he tucked it away. "It just came up in an inventory inspection." The current one was working fine, but the spare was essential. He wouldn't dare head out to the open sea without it.

"Seems the crew of The Zantetsuken owe you a debt." A pause as he taps his fingers against the ramshackle bar. Mostly welded and nailed together scrap.

"And have another favor to ask."
